Climate-Related Risk Management
Climate change is one of the major challenges nowadays and everyone around the world pays very much attention to. As climate-related risks and opportunities could impact with the business operation, True Group has analyzed and assessed both potential risk and opportunities according to the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework and we are a TCFD Supporter. The climate change adaptation has been developed, accordingly.
Greenhouse Gas Emission and Social Cost of Carbon Evaluation
We aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emission and annually monitor it to ensure the target shall be achieved. Moreover, we set the Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) and use the Social Cost of Carbon.
We want to use innovation and technology to help conserve the environment. That is why We Grow application was launched to encourage everyone to plant more trees for our planet. As of 2020, 6.08 million trees have been planted, which are capable of reducing carbon emissions by 255,000 tons.
Although True's business operations does not rely heavily on water resources, we recognize the importance of water conservation. We aim to reduce water use intensity by 10% from 2016 to 2020.
True Group is committed to reducing waste generation and responsible waste management. By the year 2020, the amount of waste disposed was 604.93 tons, lower than 81% compared to 2016.
Although there is no established scientific proof of adverse health effects from EMFs associated with mobile base stations or mobile phone usage, True follows a proactive approach in the installation and operation of mobile base stations.

The standards for electromagnetic wave emissions are controlled to a rate of less than 0.1%, a level considered safe according to the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) and other national organizations.
TRUE e-Bill
Paperless Project has been implemented within and outside the organization to broaden the scope of True e-Billing, True e-Tax Invoice, True Money Kiosk, and e-Form Register in order to reduce work process, facilitate customers, reduce the use of paper and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (Avoided Emissions Products). In 2020, it was able to reduce paper consumption by more than 167 million sheets, equivalent to more than 1,762 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent of greenhouse gas emissions
Since 2010, True had started to study and install solar cells on islands and in remote areas where the power transmission systems were not available. In 2020, the solar cells were installed at an additional 2,814 stations. In this year, they are able to generate electricity up to 15,127 kWh and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 7,276 tons of carbon dioxide. To date, solar cell panels have been installed at 3,238 sites with a combined capacity of 18,180 MWh/Year and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions up to 8,745 tons of carbon dioxide.
We Grow Application
To encourage environmental conservation, this mobile application was developed to support tree planting in today’s digital and online society.
